Slashing Obamacare subsidies to insurers would cause premiums to jump about 20% next year. That's according to a new analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, CBO. The report also estimates that one-million more people would be left with no options for coverage next year. President Donald Trump has threatened to end the subsidies, which are worth about seven-billion-dollars a year. The CBO report says the federal deficit would rise more than $190,000,000,000 over 10 years if the subsidies are eliminated.
The subsidies reimburse insurers for discounts offered to low and middle income Obamacare patients.
