The state’s next governor will travel by snowmachine to his wife’s Northwest Alaska hometown before taking the oath of office next week.
Republican Mike Dunleavy’s transition team published an itinerary Wednesday for his Monday swearing-in ceremony and associated festivities in Noorvik.
Dunleavy’s day is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. with a roughly 42-mile snowmachine ride east from Kotzebue. The governor-elect will be accompanied by Kotzebue Superior
Court Judge Paul Roetman, who will swear the governor-elect in.
