The Anchorage Police Department is investigating an early morning Wednesday shooting that left one man in the hospital.
According to a release from the department, police received a report just before 1 a.m. of shots fired on the 2900 block of Arctic Boulevard in Midtown. When they arrived on scene, officers found a man in a second floor apartment who had been shot in the upper body.
A preliminary investigation showed that the shooting happened across the street in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant, according to APD. Department spokesperson MJ Thim said multiple shell casings were found in the parking lot.
