Dunleavy takes fiscal plan discussion statewide in public talks

Gov. Mike Dunleavy will spend next week meeting with the public "to further engage the Alaskan people" onhis sweeping fiscal planthat includes a proposal to close a $1.6 billion budget gap,three constitutional amendments and bills to pay back three years of reduced Permanent Fund dividends.

Dunleavy, who had promised to go on the road and meet with Alaskans, announced on Monday that he will hold meetings in Anchorage, Kenai, Fairbanks, Nome and the Mat-Su Borough.

The meetings will take place beginning Monday, just one day after the House majority will have concluded its road hearings in similar cities.
