While it may be early in the season, a few anglers have had the pleasure of yelling "fish on!" at Ship Creek over the last week.
But Sunday night, the words "king on!" would be heard for the first time from nine-year-old Liyanella Prokopeuff of Anchorage, who caught the first king salmon of the season.
Dustin Slinker, owner of The Bait Shack, made the announcement in a Facebook livestream Sunday evening.
