ANCHORAGE – 

A 26-year-old Wasilla woman died Saturday night after a vehicle struck her on Bogard Road, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The crash was reported around 9:13 p.m., troopers wrote in a dispatch.

According to troopers, a 45-year-old man was driving eastbound on Bogard Road near Merciful Circle when Marissa Atoruk “walked into his lane of travel and was hit.” She was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, where medical personnel declared her dead.

Atoruk’s next of kin have been notified of her death, troopers wrote.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
