The special session in Juneau continues to drag on, with Gov. Bill Walker’s wage tax bill slow to gain traction.
The House Finance Committee was scheduled to hear the bill Friday afternoon, but canceled the session.
Both House majority and minority members of the committee expressed dissatisfaction with the measure.
“The plan is not a complete, comprehensive plan, because it doesn’t raise enough,” said Rep. Paul Seaton, who co-chairs the committee. “We think it raises half of what is needed on a long term basis for Alaskans to dig itself out of the hole it’s in.”
