An accusation of sexual assault led to a fatal shooting in Palmer, local police said, with an Anchorage man taken into custody at the scene.
Duyvu V. Nguyen, 40, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Palmer resident Tuan Q. Nguyen, according to a statement from Palmer Police Chief Lance Ketterling. Officers responded to a home off Daron Drive just before 10 a.m. Monday in response to a 911 call reporting the homicide, where they found Tuan dead.
“Duyvu Nguyen told police he killed Tuan Nguyen because Tuan allegedly sexually assaulted Duyvu’s wife,” Ketterling wrote. “That allegation is currently uncorroborated.”
