A man attempted to flee officers by jumping from the window of a motel early Wednesday morning in Anchorage's Fairview neighborhood, according to Anchorage Police.

An APD officer located a stolen vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Sentra, in the parking lot of the Black Angus Inn in the 1400 block of Gambell Street around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

The vehicle was unoccupied, so the officer contacted staff at the motel and learned the driver of the vehicle was inside a room. As officers knocked on the door of the room, APD spokesperson MJ Thim says the suspect, 29-year-old Eldridge Bradley, attempted to jump out of the window of his second-floor motel room but was observed by officers waiting in the back of the building.

That prompted Bradley to go back inside and open the door for the officers. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree vehicle theft.
