The man who reportedly confessed to shooting a Wasilla man in the head with a shotgun told investigators the incident escalated after the victim confronted him about having a relationship with his estranged wife.

Alaska State Troopers found the body of 32-year-old Patrick McMullen in a ditch near a pullout near milepost 59 of the Parks Highway in Houston on Thursday, November 2.

An autopsy performed on McMullen's body showed he had been shot in the head with a shotgun and that he had recently been involved in a physical altercation, as there was a fresh wound on his face and he had a broken nose. The State Medical Examiner's Office classified his death as a homicide.
