Anchorage Police have arrested a halfway house-escapee after he threatened a man with a hammer.

Sunday morning around 10:15, officers were called to the 7000 block of Stella Place after reports of vehicle prowlers. The complainant said he found a man and woman sleeping inside his pickup truck and noticed the ignition had been tampered with.

The man then woke up the duo, later identified as 30-year-old Gary Kelso and 21-year-old Shelby Stitt, and, according to APD, Kelso exited the vehicle with a hammer and threatened the man, causing him to retreat back to his home.
