Alaska State Troopers say they've determined a homicide they're investigating actually occurred in Anchorage-- which would put the city's annual homicide count at 35-- a record.
The body of an Anchorage man was found near Jim Creek in the Valley on Saturday, December 2. The victim was identified by troopers as 36-year-old Weston Gladney.
“The death is being investigated as a homicide,” troopers said in their initial reporting. “Gladney was found deceased by a person recreating on a trail near Sullivan Avenue and Caudill Road.”
