If you believe there is nothing wrong with the justice system in Alaska, consider the case of Kuach Chuoi Kuach, a 20-year-old man from Sudan.

He is charged with shooting to death Devan McDonald in an apartment bedroom on Sunday, and tampering with evidence.

What makes the case remarkable among the city’s 34 other homicide cases this year is that when McDonald was shot, Kuach was on probation for a felony weapons conviction connected to a fatal car crash near Merrill Field last year, KTUU and the Anchorage Daily News reported.
