The Anchorage Police Department is touting a recent success by their new Investigative Support Unit (ISU); the ISU took 10 criminals off the street in less than 24 hours, APD says.

The first arrest occurred around 6:45 Thursday evening in the 16000 block of Davis Street. Officers served felony warrants on 25-year-old Joe McMasters and 37-year-old Matthew Irwin.

APD spokesperson MJ Thim says McMasters' warrant was for failure to appear on a second-degree theft charge, while Irwin's warrant was in relation to a probation violation on a first-degree vehicle theft and failure to appear on an operating under the influence charge.
