Home and business owners located near Beans Cafe are living in hell. The crime, human feces and public fornication they deal with on a daily basis is something that would never be tolerated by city leaders if it were happening in more affluent Anchorage neighborhoods.
For all practical purposes city leaders have abandoned those living and working near 3rd Ave and Karluk.
Homeowner Rob Cupples and a couple of dozen other locals authored an oped in the Anchorage Daily News documenting the lawlessness the city chooses to ignore.
I interviewed Cupples on my show Tuesday. His story of daily life in his neighborhood is horrifying and should outrage all of us that city leaders are allowing this to happen.
