As firefighters continue to work on active wildfires in the area, hunters are asked to be aware of fire conditions on the Kenai Peninsula.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game said in a release Thursday anyone wanting to hunt should be aware of any emergency land closures.

While the department has not issued any orders closing hunting, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, along with U.S. Forest Service, have issued land closures for part of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Chugach National Forest-Seward Ranger District.
