The Alaska Department of Law wants the courts to dismiss a group’s complaint challenging the Division of Elections’ denying a petition to recall Gov. Mike Dunleavy.

In an anticipated response filed late Monday, the DOL called the group’s legal grounds “heavy on hyperbole and short on the basic process requirements.”

The filing is part of a volley leading up to a Jan. 10 hearing. The recall committee can file a counter response by Dec. 31.
