It is not uncommon in Alaska to encounter a moose on a trail. But an encounter just over a week ago took a dangerous turn for a woman and the dog she was walking.
Video taken from the Campbell Creek trail off of Minnesota Drive in Anchorage shows a moose charging the woman. The moose did not make contact with her or the pet. KTVA showed the video to Alaska Department of Fish and Game biologist Dave Battle.
"It charged because it was starting to feel defensive. It was starting to feel agitated," said Battle. "It felt like the person, and/or the dog, was getting too close to it."
