Child Killed After Being Run Over By Tractor At Haunted Halloween Hayride

A child has tragically died after being accidentally run over by a tractor at a Halloween event in Tennessee. The incident occurred near a haunted hayride at the Haunted Hilltop Halloween event on Friday night (October 11), according to a statement from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The child, whose identity has not been released, was playing with a group of other children near the hayride tractor route when the accident happened.

The children were reportedly hiding behind some bushes, attempting to scare hayride participants. The child attempted to jump onto the trailer but slipped and fell under the wheels of the tractor. Despite immediate response from authorities, including the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County EMS, and the Highway 58 Fire Department, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office are currently investigating the incident. In a statement, the Sheriff's Office extended their condolences to the family of the deceased child.

“The HCSO family extends our thoughts and sympathy to the family of the deceased juvenile, as well as the others who witnessed the tragic event,” police said. “We ask the community also keep this family in their prayers during this difficult time.”

The Haunted Hilltop event was closed the following day, Saturday (October 12), in response to the tragic accident. The venue expressed their condolences to the affected family in a Facebook post, asking for prayers for all involved.
