A mother accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter from malnutrition appeared in court Monday for a pre-trial hearing.
Stephanie Hamburg was granted a public defender by a judge. In court, Hamburg asked if she could be released on bail, and the judge told her to speak to her attorney.
Hamburg is accused of giving her daughter cow's milk and occasionally Dr. Pepper. An autopsy revealed the child died of malnutrition.
