Alaska State Troopers say a man whose body was found in the Mat-Su was apparently killed on the same south Anchorage street where police and troopers conducted a mysterious nighttime raid last week.
The revelation sheds new light on the raid, as well as a homicide investigation by troopers which began with 36-year-old Anchorage resident Weston Gladney’s body being found Dec. 2 near Jim Creek. His death has broken Anchorage’s previous homicide record of 34 killings, set just last year.
According to troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain, Gladney was killed at a home on the 1700 block of South Heather Meadows Loop. The location was listed in a spreadsheet overview of 2017’s 35 Anchorage homicides released Tuesday by APD.
