The Anchorage School District is getting $200,000 as part of a push to strengthen school security around the nation. It's part of a $70 million program from the Department of Justice.
The money will go to the Threat Assessment and Technology Program in the District of Alaska. Grants like this one and similar ones around the nation are in addition to funding the National Association of School Resource Officers, which trains resources officers for schools.
