Experts say there's 'no excuse' for errors made by Pretrial Enforcement

The state's new Pretrial Enforcement Division (PED) has been having problems keeping track of some violent assault suspects, even when the defendants are wearing functional, GPS-equipped electronic monitoring devices.

Within the span of a month, two suspects went unaccounted for for days. After recent coverage of these failures, the Department of Corrections admitted in an emailed statement that errors were made.
