Making Alaska history: First transgender women elected to office

Voters in several states across the nation are going to have the option to vote for transgender candidates next week.

In Alaska, two transgender women have already taken office and they hope their gender identities take a back seat to their job performance.

Kathy Ottersten, Fairbanks City Council member, and Liz Lyke, North Star Borough Assemblywoman, recently took positions as elected officials during the last Municipal election.
