President Donald Trump's approval rating dropped to 38%, the lowest percentage of his second of two non-consecutive presidential terms, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll published on Wednesday (June 11).

Trump currently has a 38% approval rating and a 54% disapproval rating, having dropped below 40% for the first time after seeing a consistent decrease in support since his inauguration in January. The president was reported to have a 46% approval rating on January 29, a 45% approval rating on February 19, a 42% approval rating on March 13 and a 41% approval rating on April 9, according to Quinnipiac University.

Immigration remains Trump's strongest issue with 43% approval and 54% disapproval ratings, though his support has declined since April, having previously had a 45% approval and 50% disapproval rating. The president also has a 40% approval and 56% disapproval rating on deportations, having previously scored at 42% approval and 53% disapproval in April.

Trump is also reported to have a 40% approval rating on the economy, 38% on trade, 37% on universities, 35% on the Israel-Hamas conflict and 34% on the Russia-Ukraine war in the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

“As the Russia – Ukraine war grinds through its third year, Americans make it clear they have little appetite for the way the Trump administration is handling the situation,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a statement.

Trump's current average approval rating is at 47.4% and his disapproval rating is at 49.5%, according to Decision Desk HQ, which tallies the leading major polls.
